We are writing to inform you of an upcoming road closure as part of the Hanover Square Public Realm Improvement scheme. This closure will temporarily restrict vehicular access on Hanover Square through to Harewood Place and Tenterden Street from Tuesday 15 February until Monday 28 February 2022. Efforts will be made to finish earlier, where possible. Access to Princes Street will be retained and a two-way operation will be in place on the eastern section of Hanover Square. The closure will be in place at all times. Appropriate signage will be provided on-street on the affected days to provide alternative routes. Please note that carriageway resurfacing works are weather dependent and in the case of poor weather conditions will need to be rescheduled. This closure is required to undertake a series of works including a new pedestrian crossing and preparation works for new traffic signals at the Harewood Place junction, drainage works, electrical connections to the gardens and the remaining paving and carriageway resurfacing north of the Square. The extents of the works are shown in the location below: |
